In this role, you will:

Have responsibility for developing advanced pricing models, researching the latest new methods being used in data science and help us stay ahead of our competitors. This opportunity will expose you to the world of analytics and actuarial science.


Your Responsibilities

  • Collection and aggregation of both structured and unstructured data from multiple sources

  • Maintenance of existing data collection and reporting solutions

  • Transformation of datasets to suit modelling, reporting and other purposes

  • Build predictive models to predict insurance cost, customer demand and other more complex problems

  • Perform validation and due diligence checks to assess data integrity

  • Procure requested data for the analytics and actuarial teams

  • Automate repetitive processes


    Your Skills and Experience

  • University degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance/Business)

  • Understanding of statistical methods

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • 1-3 years of SAS or SQL programming experience

  • 1-3 years of R or Python programming experience

  • Knowledge of Emblem or Radar an asset

  • Preference will be given to candidates with GLM and other modeling experience
